          "Audiovisual creation and the Internet"
Nikos Giannopoulos, Director-Producer
Abstract
Mr N. Giannopoulos’s focal point was the Internet as a new means for creation for the audiovisual artists. He presented the immense potential of the Internet for innovative experimentations through the search of different, new ways of artistic expression. Moreover, he stressed the special skills and the new mentality required that differentiate the conventional relationship of the artist with his/her creation. More specifically, by defining cinema as the first level and video as the second level of audiovisual expression he developed his argumentation on the new approach that is built through the use of new tools within the framework of the new Internet domain, an approach that leads to new ways of artistic expression that are different from the ones used in the past but also significantly different from one another.
